NSC offers Super Falcons $5,000 bonus for every group stage goal at WAFCON

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has reportedly introduced a cash reward of $5,000 for every goal the Super Falcons score during the group stage of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in a bid to motivate the team as they defend their continental title.

According to Daily Post, NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko announced the incentive on Tuesday during a visit to the Super Falcons' camp at the Marriott Hotel in Rabat, Morocco.

Under the arrangement, the nine-time African champions will earn $5,000 for each goal scored in the group stage, with the incentives expected to increase if the team advances to the knockout rounds.

The announcement comes as head coach Justine Madugu's side prepares to kick off its title defence against Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.

The encounter will mark the first-ever senior international meeting between Nigeria and Malawi.
